Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at St. KVGPMT18 (Bismarck Sea side of Kavieng District) by Serge Andréfouët on 14 Aug. 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Papua New Guinea, north to southern China, south to northern Australia. Rocky reef and gravel habitats in seaward reef habitats, 3–12 m depth. Marine.
