Status at New Ireland. New record, based on photograph taken on 1 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in Kavieng District .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Palau; Papua New Guinea; Solomon Islands. Found on sheltered reef slopes, 10–45 m depth. Marine.
