Pomacentrus adelus Allen 1991 —Obscure damselfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken on north coast of Manne Island, Kavieng District at 1–11 m depth, St. KR 36, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); a specimen observed south of Nemto Island, New Hanover, 1–12 m depth, St. T 24, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Philippines, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found sheltered coastal reefs, and in lagoon and seaward reefs, 0–8 m depth. Marine.
