Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken at Anelaua Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–16 m depth, St. KR98, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby to Milne Bay. Found in silty lagoon and fringing reefs, 10–18 m depth. Marine.
