Halichoeres biocellatus Schultz in Schultz, Chapman, Lachner & Woods 1960 —Twospot wrasse

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen in a video of a specimen taken east of Nago Island, Kavieng District, at 2–9 m depth, St. KR28, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Micronesia and Samoa, north to southern Japan, south to Australia and New Caledonia. Found in seaward coral reefs, 6–35 m depth. Marine.
