Stethojulis trilineata (Bloch & Schneider 1801) —Three-lined wrasse

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, 4 m depth, by Dean Tully on 19 Sept. 2012; another photographed at St. KVG28 (southeast of New Hanover) by Serge Andréfouët on 24 Aug. 2014 .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Maldives east to Philippines and Samoa, north to southern Japan, south to Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Found in harem groups, in shallow reefs, 1–20 m depth. Marine.
