Stethojulis interrupta (Bleeker 1851) —Cutribbon wrasse

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken in Steffen Strait, western Kavieng District at 3–18 m depth, St. KR 68, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken from Senta Passage, off eastern New Hanover, 5–16 m depth, at St. KR 118, in 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: East and South Africa east to Philippines and Soloman Islands, north to southern Japan, south to Australia. Found in coastal coral reefs and reef flats, 0–18 m depth. Marine.
