Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11286 (1 specimen, 44.1 mm SL, St. CP 4486-3, southeast of Bauddisson Island).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea and Madagascar east to Philippines, south to northern Australia. 0–335 m depth. Marine.
