Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed by Jeff Kinch during CFMDP Survey at Kavieng fish market in 2004–2005; a specimen observed at Nemto Island, New Hanover, 1–50 m depth, St. T 23, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Eastern Indonesia east to Palau and Fiji, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia, 1–35 m depth. Marine.
