Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 15 June 2007; a video of a specimen taken at Nubilus Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–32 m depth, St. KR 88, in 2014.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: eastern Indonesia east to Solomon Islands. Found on seaward reef slopes, 8–30 m depth. Marine.
