Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken off southern New Hanover at 3–47 m depth, St. KR106, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Northern Queensland (Australia). Found on seaward reef slopes, 3–22 m depth. Marine.
