Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Nusa Channel, Kavieng District, 2–16 m depth, St. T 18, on 5 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea and East Africa east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, north to Taiwan and southern Japan, south to Western Australia and New Caledonia. Found in coral and rocky reefs, 1–16 m depth. Marine.
