Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11193 (1 specimen, 67.3 mm SL, St. CP 4455-20, eastnortheast of Bangatang), NTUM 11333 (1 specimen, 75.0 mm SL, St. DW 4493-2, northwest of New Hanover), and NTUM 11378 (1 specimen, 75.0 mm SL, St. DW 4505-4, 3.7 km westnorthwest of Kavieng). Specimens photographed at Lissenung Island by Dietmar Amon on 14 June 2007.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Sulawesi (Indonesia) to Papua New Guinea. Sand and rubble slopes, 12–35 m depth. Marine.
