Diademichthys lineatus (Sauvage 1883) —Sea urchin clingfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken in Senta Passage, southeast of New Hanover at 5–16 m depth, St. KR 118, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell), and another video taken in Albatross Passage, southwestern Kavieng District, 3–13 m depth, St. KD 83, in 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Oman, Mauritius (Mascarenes) east to Fiji and Tonga, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Western Australia and New Caledonia. Found in association with long-spined sea urchins of branched corals, in coastal reefs, 1–20 m depth. Marine.
