Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Nusalomon Island, Kavieng District, 1–24 m depth, St. T 1, on 30 Oct. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Seychelles and western Mascarenes; Caroline Islands and eastern Australia east to Marshall Islands and Henderson (Pitcairn Group), north to southern Taiwan, south to Loyalty Islands (New Caledonia) and Tonga. Found on exposed reef flats and seaward reefs, 0–8 m depth. Marine.
