Ecsenius namiyei (Jordan & Evermann 1902)—Namiye's coral blenny

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken in Senta Passage, southeast of New Hanover at 5–16 m depth, St. KR 118, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); a specimen observed at Nusalomon Island, Kavieng District, 1–24 m depth, St. T 1, on 30 Oct. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Malaysia and Indonesia east to Solomon Islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found in lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 1–30 m depth. Marine.
