Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Nusa Channel, Kavieng District, 1–19 m depth, St. T 2, on 30 Oct. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Christmas Island east to Samoa, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to Queensland (Australia). Found on sand bottoms, associated with an alphaeid shrimp, 2– 20 m depth. Marine.
