Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, 10 m depth, by D. Tully; a video of a specimen taken at Nubilus Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–32 m depth, St. KR 88, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, south to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Found on sand bottoms of coastal bays and estuaries, associated with an alpheid shrimp, 2–20 m depth. Marine.
