* Callionymus petersi Fricke 2016 — Peters’s dragonet
Status at New Ireland. Originally descrived from New Hanover and Kavieng, New Ireland by Fricke (2016b: 41, figs. 1–3); previously misidentified as Callionymus calauropomus (non Richardson, 1844) by Peters (1877: 841), as Callionymus moretonensis (non Johnson, 1971) from New Ireland by Fricke (1981: 359), based on ZMB 9399, and by Fricke (1983: 223–226). Record from New Ireland based on MNHN, NTUM, SMF and ZMB material from off New Hanover and off Kavieng.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—Apparently endemic to New Ireland (Papua New Guinea). 181–207 m depth. Marine.
