Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed at Nemto Island, New Hanover, 1–12 m depth, St. T 24, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Tonga, north to Yaeyama Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found on sheltered sand and mud bottoms, often near mangroves, associated with alpheid shrimps, 1–10 m depth. Marine.
