Status at New Ireland. New record based on a video of a specimen taken at Anelaua Island, off eastern New Hanover, 4–12 m depth, St. KR 130, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another video taken in Albatross Passage, southwestern Kavieng District, 3–13 m depth, St. KD 83, in 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Palau and Papua New Guinea, north to Yaeyama Islands. Found on sand-silt bottoms near the shore, in burrows with alpheid shrimps, 1–10 m depth. Marine.
