Callogobius flavobrunneus (Smith 1958) —Slimy goby

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11426 (1 specimen, 33.2 mm SL, St. KS 37, south side of Patio Island, Kavieng District, 02°36.247’S 150°31.619’E, 10 m depth, 15 June 2014).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea and East Africa east to Philippines, south to northern Australia. Found on sand-rubble bottoms, 3–20 m depth. Marine.
