Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11477 (1 specimen, 26.5 mm SL, St. KS 27, northeast of Manne Island, Kavieng District, 02°42.694’S 150°41.651’E, 12 m depth, 10 June 2014). Specimens photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, at 4 m depth, by Dean Tully on 21 June 2013; a specimen observed at Balang Island, New Hanover, 0–18 m depth, St. T 21, on 6 Nov. 2006 , by Gerald R. Allen.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: India east to Palau and Fiji, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found on sand bottoms of inshore reefs, 0–10 m depth. Marine.
