Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11449 (1 specimen, 37.2 mm SL, St. KM5, northeast coast, Kavieng District, 02°40.976’S 150°56.961’E, intertidal, 11 June 2014).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Central Indonesia east to Solomon Islands, south to northern Australia. Cryptic on sand-rubble bottoms near coral reefs, 4–18 m depth. Marine.
