Status at New Ireland. New record, based on WAM material (WAM P.28184-001, 1 specimen, Kavieng District).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Andaman Islands east to Palau and Solomon Islands, north to Philippines, south to northern Australia. Found in lower reaches of freshwater streams including estuaries, 0–5 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine.
