Status at New Ireland. New record, based on USNM 262017 (1) from Nusa Island, Kavieng District. A specimen photographed at Lissenung Island, Kavieng District, at 6 m depth, by Dean Tully on 7 July 2011. NTUM 10565 (1 specimen, St. KB12, 6 June 2014); NTUM 11429 (1 specimen, KS47, 18 June 2014); NTUM 11468 (2 specimens, KS15, 6 June 2014); NTUM 11482 (4 specimens, St. KB28, 11 June 2014) .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Maldives east to Palau and Fiji, north to Philippines, south to New Caledonia. Found in crevices in lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 0–30 m depth. Marine.
