Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 12414 (1 specimen, 301.3 mm TL, St. CP 4255-6, 11.2 km northwest of Kavieng).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Red Sea east to Papua (Indonesia) and Northern Territory (Australia). Benthopelagic, 250–350 m depth. Marine.
