Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM material (1 specimen, St. CP 4498-16, north of New Hanover; 1 specimen, St. CP 4501-11, 5.3 km westnorthwest of Kavieng).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indo-West Pacific: South and East Africa and Madagascar east to New Caledonia, north to southern Japan. Demersal, 50–695 m depth. Marine.
