Status at New Ireland. New record, based on NTUM 11097 (2 specimens, St. CP 4421-28-29, northeast of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: East Africa east to Philippines and New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Bathypelagic, 180–550 m depth. Marine.
