Status at New Ireland. Recorded from New Ireland in original description by Tongboonkua et al. (2018), based on NTUM 11063 (holotype), St. CP 4418-2, northeast of New Hanover; ASIZP 73775 (1 paratype), St. CP 3654, northeast of New Hanover); NTUM 10675 (2 paratypes), St. CP 4419-1-2, northeast of New Hanover; 1 specimen, St. CP 4421-1, northeast of New Hanover ; NTUM 12333 (2 paratypes), St. CP 4445-3-4, northeast of New Hanover).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Endemic to Papua New Guinea. Bathydemersal on soft bottoms, 273–505 m depth. Marine.
