Hydroides ezoensis Okuda, 1934

Remarks. A taxon similar to H. ezoensis was mentioned by Wang and Huang (1993: 7, 10) from the fouling communities of Hong Kong; however, this species was not found by us. H. ezoensis essentially is a temperate species (Zibrowius 1978, Zibrowius & Thorp 1989: 276–277, Pollard & Pethebridge 2002: 24, ten Hove et al. 2011). Although it cannot be excluded that it was ship-transported and (temporarily?) present in Hong Kong waters, a more likely explanation might be that Wang and Huang (1993) mistook the similar but at that time still relatively unknown H. longistylaris (see below) for this species.
