Coniceromyia stephensoni Peterson

Coniceromyia stephensoni Peterson, 1982: 136, figs. 1–2. Refs.: Kung & Brown 2000a: 6. Holotype ♂, Panama: Chiriqui: 4km N Hartmann's Finca, B.Gill (CNC; not examined).

Diagnosis (male). Forefemur anterior face with large white oval macula, which is mesally brown (Fig. 321); circular macula at wing apical third, strong ventral setae on foretibia.

Material examined. 1♂, COSTA RICA: Puntarenas: Las Alturas, 8.95ºN, 82.83ºW, 10–13.vi.1998, Malaise trap, 1600 m, B. Brown & V. Berezovskiy col. (LACM) .

Hypopygium description (Figs. 122–125). Hypopygium nearly identical to that of C. leucomacula, but with four setae on the hypoproct.

Geographical distribution. So far, known only from Costa Rica and Panama.
