6.1. Myrcianthes pseudomato (D.Legrand) McVaugh, Fieldiana Bot. 29: 493. 1963.
Basionym: Eugenia pseudomato D.Legrand, Lilloa 10: 477. 1944 (type: Argentina, Tucumán, Schreiter 919, holotype MVM, not seen; isotype NY).
The occurrence of this species in Brazil was cited by Grifo (1992), based on a MICH collection (Hatschbach 22932). We had the opportunity to examine Hatschbach 22932 at MBM and, although it presents dichasial inflorescences reminding those of several species of Myrcianthes, the MBM sheet is in fact a collection of Blepharocalyx salicifolius (Kunth) O.Berg . No additional Brazilian collection of Myrcianthes pseudomato was examined since this citation; so, we have not included this species in the final list of Brazilian Myrtaceae .
