Distribution. This species was previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Dawah & Abdullah (2006); Deeming (2003: 82). It was described from Bulgaria and is further recorded from Bangladesh, Cameroun, Cape Verde Is., Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ibiza, India, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Libya, Madiera, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, Oman, Senegal, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey and Zambia.

Remarks. This species is a pest of cereals, commercially-grown Rhodes grass and pasture (Deeming 2003: 82–85).
