Specimens examined. 1♂, Asir, Abha, Hay Al-Nusub (Abha Farm Centre), 1–25.2013, sweeping grass, H.A. Dawah (CERS); 4♂, 3♀, same data but, 10.v.2001 (NMWC; CERS); 1♂, same data but 3.vi.2001 (CERS) .
Distribution. This species was previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Dawah & Abdullah (2006). It was described from Germany and further recorded from the Palaearctic Region: Albania, Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Greece, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Madiera, Mongolia, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sicily, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and the former Yugoslavia: North America (Nartshuk 1984; 2012).
Remarks. Nye (1958: 456) gives notes on biology and description of the larva, recording it as developing in the tillers of three species of Agrostis L. in Britain.
