Diagnosis: Body length 9.10–9.60 mm; hemelytra and scutellum with vermiculate pattern and densely punctate (Figs. 2A, C); posterolateral corners of abdominal segments III–VI spinose and distinctly produced posteriorly (Fig. 8E); male abdominal tergum VII with posterior margin asymmetrical (Fig. 7B) (Rodrigues et al., unpublished data).

Comments: This species shares some morphological characteristics with P. subflavus, including the female subgenital plate with the posterior margin shallowly concave medially (Figs. 9B, F); abdominal tergum VIII broadly rounded (Figs. 10B, F); valvulae 1 smooth along the dorsal and lateral margins, with distal setal tufts (Figs. 11B, F); and the distal portion of the metapleura broadly rounded and only slightly projected (Fig. 12A). However, this species differs from P. subflavus by abdominal tergum VII asymmetrical in the males and abdominal tergum III with the posterolateral corner spinose.
