DISTRIBUTION: N.C. Venezuela, E. of Lake Maracaibo and the Merida Andes.

COMMENT: Includes ochraceus; guairae and ochraceus were formerly included in guyannensis; see Reig et al., 1980:291-312, in Voronstov and Van Brink, eds., Animal genetics and evolution, Junk, The Hague. These authors also mention a closely related, undescribed species ("Barina's") from south of the Merida Andes.
