COMMENT: Formerly included brevicauda; see Reig et al., 1980:291-312, in Voronstov and Van Brink, eds., Animal genetics and evolution, Junk, The Hague. Patton and Gardner, 1972, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. La. St. Univ., 44, reported the karyotype of this species, from E. Peru.
