DISTRIBUTION: Cuba and the Isle of Pines.

COMMENT: Placed in the subgenus Mysateles by Varona, 1974, and in the genus and subgenus Mysateles by Kratochvil et al., 1978, Acta Sci. Nat. Sci. BohemoslovBrno, 12(11):15. However, retained in Capromys by Hall, 1981:863, and Corbet and Hill, 1980:191. GSM, GCC, and CAW include Mysateles in Capromys .
