COMMENT: Includes guianae; see Huckinghaus, 1961, Z. Wiss. Zool., 166:58, and Husson, 1978:449; but also see Cabrera, 1961:578, who placed guianae in porcellus . Corbet and Hill, 1980:189, listed guianae as a distinct species without comment. Includes pamparum; see Massoia and Fornes, 1967, Acta Zool. Lilloana, 23:407-430, and Huckinghaus, 1961, Z. Wiss. Zool., 166:57; but see Cabrera, 1961:577, who listed pamparum as a distinct species.
