Manota defecta Williston, 1896

Material studied. 1 male, DOMINICA: St Paul Parish Ponte Casse, D-smart Farm, 15 22’23.4’’N 61 20’58.7’’W, alt 512m, Malaise trap, 13–20.vi.2016, BMNH(E)2016-174 Operation Wallacea, leg. E. McAlister (on slide, NHM) .

Remarks. The species was described from St. Vincent Island in the Southern Caribbean (Williston 1896). This record represents the first since its initial description 125 years ago and shows a wider distribution of the species at least in the Caribbean Islands.
