Distribution. This is the first record from Saudi Arabia. This species was described from Malta (as “Melita”, by lectotype des. Clausen 1979: 141). It is widespread in the Palaearctic Region: Algeria, Azores, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Egypt, Great Britain, Greece, Iran, Israel, Italy, Malta, Morocco, Spain, Turkey and Turkmenistan; Afrotropical Region: United Arab Emirates.
