Arrenurus (Arrenurus) australicus Lundblad, 1941
(Figs. 1A–B)
Material examined. Tasmania. 10/0/0, Small lake near Lake Shadow, Lake St. Clair-Cradle Mountain NP, 42° 05’ 47.87” S 146° 07’ 45.23” E, 25 March 2008.
Description. Male: Lundblad’s (1947) description of the species was based on one male and one female only. Therefore some additional characters are given below for the male. Idiosoma purple, 1085 (1035–1126) long and 884 (834–985) wide. D1 and D3 on small humps, L3 on large humps (Fig. 1A). Dorsal shield in some specimens extending more anteriorly, as illustrated by Lundblad (1947). In other males, however, dorsal shield is much shorter. Inner margin of pygal lobes with a small hyaline extension. Genital field widened laterally, extending to lateral idiosoma margin (Fig. 1B). Petiole only well visible when idiosoma is somewhat uplifted, which is not done in illustrated male of this study. Ligulate process of petiole not extending beyond posterior margin of petiole. Petiole with a small tooth.
Distribution. Previously known only from the type locality, Mount Victoria in New South Wales, and here reported for the first time from Tasmania.
