Arrenurus (Micruracarus) queenslandicus Smit, 1999

Material examined. Victoria. 1/0/0, Glenelg River, at crossing with Henty Highway, 37° 0 6.517 S 142° 11.430 E, 16 March 2008. Queensland. 9/16/0, Emu Creek at Clancy’s Camping Area, Benarkin State Forest, 26° 58.334 S 152° 0 9.916 E, 3 November 2005.

Distribution. Queensland and reported here for the first time from Victoria.

Remarks. As stated before, specimens from Emu Creek show a large variation in size, males are 583–721 long and 494–583 wide, females are 680–940 long and 575–786 wide. Like A. forpicatoides, males have a small triangular extension on the fork-shaped petiole. The status of A. perplexus Smit, a third species with a green coloured idiosoma and a fork-shaped petiole, has to be evaluated given the large variation in size and shape of A. queenslandicus . Unfortunately I have been unable to reexamine A. perplexus .
