Type locality: Norway: Lister-spring close to Vanse Kirche (Thor 1900) .

Geographical distribution: Holarctic (Di Sabatino et al. 2010).

Distribution in Portugal: Madeira, In Moinhos-Ribeiro Frio (GBIF 2022).

Ecological notes: Freshwater, springs, flowing and standing water bodies; also found in eutrophic waters (Van Der Hammen & Smit 1996; Di Sabatino et al. 2010).
