Type locality: Deep Atlantic basins: Greenland, Labrador Basin, 58°47′7N, 52°56′5W ; Portugal, Azores Sill, 36°48′5N, 27°06′0W ; Spain, Bay of Biscay, 44°06′3N, 4°22′4W ; northern edge of Angola Basin, 9°12′S, 10°29′E (Bartsch 1978).

Geographical distribution: Atlantic Ocean (Bartsch 1978; GBIF 2022).

Distribution in Portugal: Azores Archipelago (Bartsch 1978).

Ecological notes: Typical marine benthic, found from 2006 to 4223 m depth, associated with poriferans and hydrozoans (Bartsch 1978).
