Spermophagus leporinus Sharp, 1885: p. 497 . From labels: “ S. Geronimo, / Guatemala. / Champion." [Guatemala]; " Taboga Isl., / Panama. / Champion." [Panama]. Syntypes deposited in the BMNH. The specimen from Panama bears a “ Lectotype ” label while the specimen from Guatemala bears a “ Syntype ” label, but no lectotype has been published. So, these both remain a syntypes.
