Taraxacum floribundum Doll (1978: 636, Plate LXXIV), described as a member of T. sect. Alpestria
Type indication:—“Typus: Holotypus im h Doll / Locus typus [sic!]: Borovez, Wegrand. 7. 7. 76. Doll“; also Plate LXXIV: „ Taraxacum floribundum Doll sp. nov. – Holotypus ”.
Type:— Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Borovez, Wegrand, 7 Jul 1976, R. Doll [as Taraxacum floribundum sp. nov. Holotypus!] (JE, no. det. 19253, holotype; isotype: JE, no. det. 19254) .
Specimens of the OM:—The OM of the name T. floribundum consists of a single gathering divided and mounted on two herbarium sheets. On Plate LXXIV, plants from both sheets were put together and photographed as a single plant but there were two rosettes overlapping. On both sheets, there are late sciomorphic plants, not satisfactorily prepared, and later damaged by instects. Achenes are very small, with a short cone, pollen is present and irregular in the remnants of florets.
Conclusion:—The quality of plant material does not allow any clear interpretation; we tentatively suggest they might belong to T. sect. Taraxacum (= T. sect. Ruderalia). The name itself is considered as a nomen damnabile.
