Taraxacum malowitzum Doll (1978: 638, Plate LXXV), described as a member of T. sect. Alpestria
Type indication:—“Typus: Holotypus im h Doll / Locus typicus: Malowitza-Hütte, 2400 m. 16. 7. 76. Doll“; also Plate LXXV: „ Taraxacum malowitzum Doll sp. nov. – Holotypus ”.
Type:— Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Malowitza-Hütte, ca. 2400 m. 16 Jul [19]76, R. Doll [as Taraxacum malowitzum sp. nov. Holotypus!] (JE, no. det. 19408, holotype) .
Specimens of the OM:—The OM of T. malowitzum consists of a single herbarium specimen, the one photographed on Plate LXXV. There are two leaf rosettes, perhaps originally forming a single one, with ripe achenes available. The specimen represents the holotype.
Conclusion:—The distinctive characters of achenes on the type specimen of T. malowitzum make it possible to equate this name with the earlier T. amborum Haglund (1934: 25) .
