Taraxacum panalpinum van Soest (1959: 88)

Herbarium voucher specimens:—There are three specimens under the name T. panalpinum, each with a different taxon; the third one is a mixed gathering. Sheet I: Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Musalla-Hütte, 12 Jul [19]76, R. Doll [as Taraxacum panalpinum] (JE, no. det. 19058). Sheet II: Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Musalla-Hütte, Weg., 12 Jul 1976, R. Doll [as Taraxacum panalpinum] (JE, no. det. 19059). Sheet III: Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Malowitza-Hütte, Bachrand. 16 Jul [19]76, R. Doll [as Taraxacum panalpinum] (JE, no. det. 19060).
Interpretation:—The specimens under the name T. panalpinum belong to several taxa of T. sect. Crocea (one described as T. vile below, Sheet I, another represented by T.paludosiforme, Sheet II), to T. sect. Obliqua ( T. chrysocephalum group, Sheet II) and to the T. pirinicum group (Sheet III). None of the above plants belongs to T. panalpinum .
